The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is a

Coordinator, Capital,

and Facilities Renewal Projects - 1.0 FTE

(1 Permanent Position)

SALARY

($79,890 - $104,939)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Capital and Facilities Renewal

Projects, the Coordinator, Capital, and Facilities Renewal Projects will be

responsible for the planning, coordination and management of various capital

projects/programs ranging in size from minor renovations to new school

construction within a multi-million-dollar budget, in alignment with the

Board’s strategic directions and priorities. The Coordinator, Capital and

Facilities Renewal Projects will also assist with the planning, coordination,

data management and reporting of the School Condition Assessment program for

school facilities and infrastructure. The position will establish timelines, schedules

and participate with third party consultant inspections which will form the

basis of the facility condition database. In addition, the Coordinator,

Capital, and Facilities Renewal Projects will also summarize and generate

reports as required to provide information to assist in the selection of

improvement projects.

Basic Qualifications

A university

degree in Architectural, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or

equivalent education and experience, is required.

Minimum 5 years

of progressive work experience in building condition assessments,

construction and/or project management.

Working

knowledge of Construction Law and CCDC.

Combination

of education and experience may be considered

Other Qualifications/Additional Experience:

Experience with municipal approvals process, consultant/construction contracts and tendering procedures within the Broader Public Sector, relevant government regulations and Ontario Building Code, and school design preferred.

Public sector and/or school board experience preferred.

Full knowledge of computer applications, including CAD, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and databases.

Knowledge of fundamental accounting transactions would be an asset.

Working knowledge of software maintenance programs such as Megamation, eBASE and VFA would be a definite asset.

Technical knowledge of building component systems, materials/procedures, construction supervision, mechanical and electrical systems.

Excellent organization and communication skills; strong interpersonal, time management and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

A good working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety, Fire and Building codes, as well as other municipal regulations and bylaws as they relate to construction projects.

Must be comfortable working in a construction environment.

Availability to work after hours and weekends when required based on system needs.

A valid driver’s license and use of your own vehicle for travel within the board’s jurisdiction is required.
