As an Ethics and compliance Advisor, you will support the regulatory compliance management program in the areas of safety, security, protection of the environment, and operational reliability.

What you will do:

  • Support implementation of the Compliance Management element processes (i.e., Legal Register

  • Management and Regulatory Management of Change (RMOC) processes) within all Enbridge Business Units (LP, GTM, GDS, Power, etc.)

  • On a daily basis, monitor for notifications that identify new legislation, changes to legislation, safety advisories, directives, bulletins, and other requirements from regulators that are applicable to Enbridge.

  • Prepare RMOC database entries for new/changing legislation, standards, etc., for the purpose of stakeholder review and assessment. Core preparation activities include drafting change summaries, assembling supporting documents, and identification of areas of impact to the business.

  • Communicate the RMOC dashboard and prepare change highlights for a broad audience (technical and non‐technical).

  • Support RMOC process governance including tracking of RMOC response and integration task completion.

  • Support business unit Programs’ and Elements’ review of Compliance Management Legal Registers using EnCompass and Power BI and identify areas of potential compliance risk.

  • Collection and preparation of Compliance Management metrics for process performance reporting

  • Review management system document revisions through business unit document management of change processes for control mapping applicability and update EnCompass as required.

  • Maintain an awareness of evolving compliance, regulatory, and technical issues, and identify potential process improvement opportunities.

  • Identify opportunities for enhancements within the Legal Register and RMOC software systems.

Who you are:

  • Related university degree or technical diploma with additional experience (e.g., Policy, Business/Commerce, Science or Engineering preferred).

  • 4 or more years of regulatory or compliance experience or knowledge, preferably in the pipeline industry.

  • Ability to perform independent work as assigned, particularly the identification, categorization, and analysis of regulatory changes.

  • Strong computer skills, particularly working with databases (i.e., Maximo, EnCompass assets).

  • Effective verbal and written communicator with the ability to establish and foster relationships and cooperation with key stakeholders.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage work across an extensive suite of responsibilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the development, interpretation, and/or application of legislation, regulation, technical standards, etc.

  • Experience with Canadian federal and provincial regulatory landscapes is an asset.
