This is a non-union positionWe are seeking an Advisor Regulatory Affairs to join our team! The primary focus of this role is leading, organizing, monitoring, and making regulatory filings related to operations and maintenance activities and routine projects.
You will provide guidance on regulatory matters throughout the project lifecycle including, as required, developing a regulatory strategy and plan, leading cross-functional teams involved in preparing regulatory submissions, ensuring submissions meet regulatory requirements, drafting letters and sections of regulatory notifications or applications, responding to information requests, facilitating information exchanges, and handling condition filings.

What you will do:Coordinating the regulatory process for operations and maintenance activities and routine projects and filings, including developing project plans, schedules and activities to ensure Enbridge projects are meeting regulatory requirements.
Coordinating the municipal permitting process for Enbridge Canadian project activities.
Ensuring that the regulatory advice provided aligns with corporate strategy, goals, and values.
Coordinating cross-functional regulatory sub-teams involved in preparing regulatory applications including providing advice on requirements and effective methods of meeting the requirements to improve the probability of favourable and timely regulatory approvals with minimal conditions and risks to schedule, scope, and cost.
Leading and managing vital resources within and/or outside the company to make appropriate and timely regulatory filings and permit applications with the Canada Energy Regulator (CER), in particular, as well as the British Columbia Energy Regulator (BCER), the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), and municipal authorities to acquire necessary authorizations for various facility projects and operations and maintenance activities.
Building support and inspiring others by developing collaborative relationships (internal and external), including with municipal and regulatory agency staff and partners to understand strategy, resolve any outstanding matters on projects and to facilitate approvals.
Identifying improvements to regulatory processes and procedures.
Providing training and guidance as required to department staff and key internal partners.
University degree (e.g. Business/Commerce, Science/Environmental Science or Engineering preferred).
Four (4) or more years of regulatory work experience (e.g. with a regulated utility, regulatory agency, municipal or provincial permitting authority, federal government or appropriate oil and gas experience).
Project Management experience.
Familiarity or experience working within records and data management systems (e.g. Sharepoint, Enablon).
Make sound decisions and be strategic by applying cross-disciplinary knowledge and expertise to prioritize work and address critical issues.
Ability to present and facilitate to a wide variety of audiences including the public and non-technical partners, regulators, technical staff, and senior leaders in an effective manner.
Prioritizes time and resources to ensure results achieved by balancing multiple priorities and takes initiative maintaining efficiency and a positive outlook even when faced with challenges.
Experience with the regulatory framework of the CER, BCER and /or AER.
Experience with municipal development and/or building permit processes.
Knowledge of pipeline operations and facilities.
Professional credentials or certifications considered an asset, e.g. Project Management Professional designation.
