What You Will Do:

  • Ensure corrosion prevention reports follow established analytical processes and meet quality assurance requirements.

  • Manage the budget, forecast, and execution of assigned corrosion mitigation projects.

  • Provide support in the development of monitoring / mitigation plans to control the corrosion threat on the GTM system.

  • Provide technical guidance to corrosion technicians in addressing issues related to corrosion threats identified during routine inspections and special projects.

  • Conduct and lead corrosion related data quality reviews with various stakeholder and direct field follow up investigative work.

  • In conjunction with the Technical Training Department, develop and support implementation of field training modules to field personnel.

  • Advance corrosion prevention monitoring and mitigation processes by developing and implementing technical roadmaps, gap analyses and business plans.

  • Lead corrosion technical reviews, engineering assessments and project designs.

  • Implement and/or initiate targeted research to develop effective corrosion monitoring & mitigative technologies.

  • Update and approve corrosion management processes, standards, and specifications.

  • Support regulatory audits by providing technical support during field inspections.

  • Develop and maintain strong industry representation and influence.

  • Set and continually improve standards both in Enbridge and industry by driving innovation.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills requiring specific knowledge and experience within a unique industry.

  • Safety critical role - daily activities and decisions that directly impact the safety of the pipeline system. Provides technical decisions/judgements regarding corrosion issues on a largely independent basis. Interface with various internal departments, contractors, and pipeline owners.

  • Represents Enbridge at sponsored industry functions.

Required:

  • Related university degree and fourplus years’ experience OR sixplus years of previous field operations experience, OR equivalent mix of formal education and experience.

  • Four or more years of related experience.

  • Project management experience.

  • Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry, pipeline operations, corrosion science, cathodic protection design and operation, coating systems, flow modelling, research and development, internal corrosion, product quality, laboratory methods, pipeline regulations, and project management.

  • Minimum NACE certified CP I or demonstrated equivalent.

  • An excellent communication skillset to build collaborative relationships, influence and engage others.

  • Create innovative, strategic solutions to complex corrosion related problems affecting multiple business units.

  • Valid Passport and eligible to travel throughout North America.

Preferred:

  • Extensive project management experience of corrosion mitigation projects.

  • Experience with Oracle.

  • Proficiency using American Innovations PCS.

  • Informal leadership skills: coaching, mentoring, collaboration and conflict resolution.

  • Ability to delegate and leverage others to deliver results.

Working Conditions:
  • Work performed both in field and office.

  • Travel approximately 10% of the time.

  • Exposed to situations where incumbent is required to lead without direct influence.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

  • Numerous, often competing interests must be managed concurrently whilst negotiating/influencing within and outside the organization.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
