This is a non-union positionDo you have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several project deadlines concurrently? Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Analyst is responsible for the coordination, preparation, maintenance and analysis of the General Ledgers. In addition, you will be responsible for Identifying, researching and implementing general ledger process improvements.
You will also be responsible for addressing ad hoc inquiries and analysis requirements in support of the financial reporting processes. This position is expected to work with significant independence on standard assignments.

Prepare monthly recurring and non-recurring journal entries, ensures financial information is entered into the general ledger system timely, to meet financial cycle reporting timelines.
Drive Day 1 to Day 6-month end activities, ensuring completion of specific accountabilities and deliverables associated with each day.
Review and analyze the monthly general ledger for reasonableness, accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
Work with sub-ledger groups (Project Accounting, Payroll, Oil Accounting, Treasury) and other stakeholders to ensure that all financial reporting requirements are met, and issues / queries are resolved timely.
Assist with SOX reporting requirements.
Undergraduate degree in Accounting either with or working towards a Professional Accounting Designation.
2 or more years of experience in a similar role.
Strong analytical, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of Oracle Financials / Hyperion Financial Management / SmartView would be an asset.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and working knowledge of US GAAP.
Proven team player, with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, while demonstrating a high level of cooperation and mutual respect.
