Responsibilities:
* Recording financial transactions: Assist in recording and maintaining financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger journal entries, sales, purchases, and expenses.
* Accounts payable and receivable: Help process vendor invoices, review expenses, and ensure timely payments. Assist in client invoicing and follow up on collections.
* Bank reconciliations: Support the reconciliation of bank statements and credit card statements to identify discrepancies with the accounting system and ensure accuracy. Provide support for the reconciliation process.
* Month-end closing support: Participate in the month-end closing process, including necessary general ledger adjustments and preparation of end-of-period reports.
* Maintaining financial records: Organize and file financial documents, receipts, invoices, and supporting records for easy accessibility.
* Administrative support: Manage the accounting email inbox and assist the finance team by performing various administrative tasks and participating in continuous improvement projects.
Profile:
* High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is a plus)
* Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
* Experience in a similar role (an asset).
* Proficiency with QuickBooks and Google Suite.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and French in order to communicate with collaborators outside the province of Quebec.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
