We are looking for a Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position, 100% on site, located in Laval.

The System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the efficient provisioning, installation, configuration, management and maintenance of hardware and software systems and associated infrastructure. He/She plays a key role in technical research and development, contributing to continuous innovation within the infrastructure. He/She ensures that hardware, operating systems and software function optimally.

Main responsibilities:

Install, maintain and configure servers, hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in compliance with project or operation-specific standards and requirements.
Provide on-demand technical support, identify and resolve user computer problems.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Contribute to the development and implementation of system standards.
Explore and recommend innovative solutions and automate system administration tasks where possible. Identify approaches that optimize resources and enable economies of scale.
Monitor systems by verifying the integrity and availability of equipment, server resources, systems and critical processes. Analyze system and application logs and verify the execution of scheduled tasks such as backups.
Ensure regular security monitoring to detect any intrusion attempts.
Perform daily backups of file systems and required data on appropriate media.
Regularly archive files and purge data as necessary.
Create, modify or delete user accounts on request.
Repair and restore hardware or software failures, coordinating and communicating with relevant parties.
Regularly apply updates and patches to the operating system and administration tools and utilities, while configuring or adding services as required.

Prepare periodic reports on system performance to assist in capacity planning.
Configure, diagnose and resolve network equipment problems.
Respond to emergencies outside office hours.
Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

Degree in computer science or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Expertise in Microsoft, Linux and VMware environments.
Minimum 3 years' experience in systems administration.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in French and English.
Strong customer service skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complex situations.
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with others.
Team spirit and willingness to support and help colleagues.
