We are currently looking to fill a Temporary Full Time opportunity for a Project Coordinator (Advance Program) at Central City located in Surrey, BC. This temporary role is available until August 17th, 2025


As a Project Coordinator, you will report to the Manager, Provider Experience, and work as a key member of the Advance Program to support the development, coordination, and implementation of initiatives and strategies for building a quality provider experience across the organization and a regional provider adoption program. This role will support change management & adoption, and utilization & evaluation of informatics solutions such as electronic medical records, electronic health records, provider order management, electronic documentation, health information exchanges, virtual health and other digital health solutions used by providers across the care continuum.

Detailed Overview

Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families.

The Coordinator provides project coordination services to Fraser Health (FH) in the areas of business planning, process design, information management and transition planning under the direction of a Project Manager to improve the quality, consistency and delivery of IM services across FH; develops management and operational business processes and process templates in collaboration with assigned IM operating units; coordinates cross-functional teams to complete selected projects by working with project managers, business area managers and consultants to support the implementation and execution of selected projects, project management and budget control; assists the Project Delivery Services team with developing and establishing standards of practice for project management, selection, completion and follow up; implements project tools and processes consistent with industry-wide best practice, FH business and operational requirements; assists with measuring the overall effectiveness of improvement IM service delivery and responsiveness and monitors outputs against defined project standards/outcomes.


Responsibilities


  1. Provides project coordination services on selected projects within the FH Information Management portfolio under the supervision of a Project Manager by assisting in the development of selected project plans; monitors project scope, timelines and budgets and reports on project status; assists with developing project baselines/milestones and monitors progress against these project milestones; manages project tasks consistent with accepted standard methodologies to ensure successful and coordinated completion of projects, as directed.
  2. Carries out project plans as directed by the Project Manager; monitors project deliverables and performs project documentation; assembles project teams, identifies needed resources, refines and documents operational processes, assigns responsibilities and develops timeframes to facilitate successful completion of project activities and deliverables; coordinates cross-functional work teams and assigned resources in fulfilling assignments; develops, refines and documents IM operational processes to improve IM responsive and service delivery effectiveness to selected projects.
  3. Assists the selected projects through the project management phases using standard documented methodologies to ensure that selected projects and initiatives are aligned with FH's Strategic Plans and published project standards/guidelines; liaises and communicates with Project Executives and stakeholders by monitoring and reporting on all phases of projects to ensure success and increase overall quality of solutions implemented; provides updates on status and all aspects of the project, as required.
  4. Reviews and monitors project work assignments; assesses and provides input into staffing requirements for the selected project; performs assigned tasks associated with the analysis of benefits on closed projects and reporting on project benefits realization after project completion; prepares and submits report to the Project Manger for review and follow up.
  5. Works with the Project Delivery Services team to provide input into setting standards for project practice; documents, develops and publishes IM and related project standards and guidelines; implements project tools and processes, researches industry-wide best practice and keeps current of FH requirements in project practice.
  6. Provides input into the annual goals and objectives for the department, in collaboration with the Manager, ensuring consistency with FH objectives and strategies; provides consultation and advice to IM operating units on performance measurements, emerging IM performance improvement measures, techniques and practices.
  7. Champions planning and project methodologies and best practice through mentoring, coaching and communicating with team members, stakeholders and staff. Remains current with emerging trends in the project management environment and contributes to the implementation of these at Fraser Health.
  8. Participates in assigned FH, provincial and other projects; coordinates discussion with the stakeholders, as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or Health Information Science, a professional certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) supplemented with two (2) to four (4) years' recent related experience in contemporary project management or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
