The salary range for this position is CAD $45.46 - $65.35 / hour
Job Summary

As a Full Time Project Manager - Redevelopment & Major Projects, you will use your creativity to oversee and support the planning, design and/or implementation of various projects with a high degree of complexity; including project planning, management, reporting, communications and project closeout. Your diverse background in project management will prepare you to deliver a multitude of different projects related to the construction of Burnaby Hospital.

 

The successful candidate will provide project management support to the Project Results & Supports Office (PSRO) team as well as support other teams with their project management needs. Inter-departmental collaboration as well as engaging external stakeholders is crucial and therefore the successful candidate will have exemplary organizational and communication skills.

 

The Project Manager plays a key role in project planning, reporting, and execution. Experience leading projects in a healthcare setting is an asset. The successful candidate will possess a “problem solver” attitude where if a solution is unknown, is willing to complete research to self-educate before relaying information to external stakeholders, peers and superiors.

 

Additionally in this role, you will build on your education and career experience as you:

• Support the PSRO Team in managing the day-to-day task  associated with constructing a large scale, complex hospital project;
• Create and manage new processes and tools used by various members of the Project Team;
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to extract insights to effectively execute projects;
• Provide regular reporting, capturing key issues, project concerns, pricing and schedule updates; monitor project charter, plans and objectives to maintain timelines and project deliverables;
• Maintain project records in electronic format such as SharePoint and SmartSheet; maintain and track all communications both with internal and external stakeholders using Procore or similar platform;
• Ensure smooth delivery and progression of the project according to best-practice project management methodologies to ensure a successful and coordinated completion of the project by facilitating consensus with partners;
• Present project plans, status, KPI’s, risks, benefits, costs, etc. using primarily Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with the following is considered an asset and if relevant, should be highlighted on the application: Microsoft Office, SharePoint, SmartSheet, Procore, BlueBeam.

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the planning, design and/or implementation of assigned mid-range facilities projects of moderate scope and complexity, including project planning, project management, communications, and contract management. Oversees assigned staff and provides leadership by directing work teams, contractors and consultants as needed on a project-by-project basis.
ResponsibilitiesQualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field together with five (5) to seven (7) years' recent related experience managing, leading and directing facilities projects in a complex institutional environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

• Knowledge of capital project planning and implementation processes including design, construction and procurement within current standards, codes, bylaws and regulations.

• Ability to interpret construction drawings and construction specifications.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage planning, design and construction projects simultaneously.
• Ability to supervise and provide direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, plan, organize, prioritize and implement projects in a timely manner.
• Demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic project environment with changing priorities.
• Demonstrated attention to detail.
• Ability to operate related equipment including related software applications.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
