We are currently looking to fill a Relief Part Time opportunity for a Social Worker at Fellburn Care Centre located in Burnaby, BC. This position is available until March 2026 or until return of incumbent.

Fellburn Care Centre, a long-term care facility in Burnaby, BC, offers health care, recreation, and spiritual support to residents from diverse backgrounds with complex needs. With 81 publicly subsidized beds, we strive to enhance the quality of life for our residents through continuous improvements in care, including advanced medical services like peripherally inserted central catheters, intravenous hydration, and tracheostomy care. Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Operations, the Social Worker assists residents and their families to adjust to the stress associated with chronic illness/disability, relocation, and institutional life.

Education, Training and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work. Two year's recent, related experience working as a Social Worker in a long term care setting inclusive of clinical training and experience in individual, marital/family and group modalities of social work practices.

Current full registration with the BC College of Social Workers.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to deal with residents, staff and the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to organize and prioritize workload.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Must possess physical ability necessary to perform the duties of the position.
