Location: Berens River Adult Learning Centre
Start Date: November 4, 2024
FTE: 1.00 FTE

The Berens River Adult Learning Centre serves about 20 adult learners each year. Berens River is a community of approximately 2,500 located on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, a 4 ½ hour drive north of Winnipeg. This lakeside town offers community services such as a general store, Northern store and a community hall. The beautiful surrounding area is a recreational paradise offering a variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking and canoeing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education Degree
Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
Experience teaching adults and knowledge of adult learning principles
An academic generalist who is familiar with literacy and numeracy instruction and is also proficient in both the current English Language Arts and Mathematics Grade 9-12 Manitoba curriculum
Experience working in a northern community
An individual who is outgoing, flexible and self-motivated
Ability to cultivate a positive and successful learning environment
A sound knowledge of and experience with school-based technology
