Grand Rapids School is a Nursery to Grade 12 school with approximately 430 students and is located in Grand Rapids, Manitoba, which is situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Winnipeg. The school serves the community of Grand Rapids and Misipawistik Cree Nation. This lakeside town offers community services such as cell service, high-speed internet, recreation centre, health center with ambulance service, air ambulance service, two gas stations, restaurants and a grocery store. A variety of recreational activities can be enjoyed such as hiking, snowmobiling, ATV trails, fishing and boating.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Education Degree
• Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate
• A sound knowledge of Manitoba Middle Years curricula
• Previous Middle Years teaching experience
• A sound knowledge and experience with school-based technology
• Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
• Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum
• Strong classroom management skills
• Experience working with students with unique needs
• A commitment to differentiated instruction
• A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices
• A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn
• Self-motivated
