Brochet School is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with approximately 167 students. Brochet is a picturesque and peaceful community located on the northeastern shore of Reindeer Lake. Access is via daily scheduled flights from Thompson, MB and by winter road. The community has a population of approximately 600 people with community services such as a Northern Store, nursing station, community hall/youth centre, baseball diamond and outdoor skating rink.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree and valid Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate (or eligibility for)
Master’s Degree in Education/Administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset
At least five years of teaching experience and five years of administrative experience
Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction
Experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum
Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively communicate with parents and the community, and foster parental involvement
Ability to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schooling
Previous success with the development and implementation of short and long-term school-based plans
Experience leading innovative and alternative program delivery methods for students
Keen ability to identify and creatively solve problems
Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment
Ability to work in partnership with community agencies
