Position: Resource Teacher
Location: Black River Anishinabe School
Start Date: As soon as possible
FTE: 1.00 FTE
Term of Employment: Term to June 27, 2025

Black River Anishinabe School is a well-equipped Nursery to Grade 9 school with approximately 230 students located on the banks of the O’Hanly and Black Rivers along the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, 150 kilometers northeast of Winnipeg. The community has a population of approximately 1,000 people with community services such as general store/gas bar and health centre.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Master’s Degree in Education or related field
Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
Manitoba Special Education certificate or certification in progress
Previous experience as a Resource Teacher
Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction
Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment
Familiar with appropriate educational programming
Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming
Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments
Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place
A commitment to continue to support on-going programs in the school
Strong verbal and written communication skills
