POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Garden Valley School Division invites applications for the full-time permanent position of Resource Teacher at Garden Valley Collegiate effective September 2, 2025.
Applicants that have demonstrated experience in the following areas will be given careful consideration:
- Experience in Resource is considered a strong asset.
- Collaborate with and support classroom teachers to create inclusive learning environments and differentiate instruction for students requiring additional support.
- Provide supervision and guidance to educational assistants, ensuring effective implementation of student support plans.
- Develop and implement support documentation (e.g., CMPs, adaptation plans) for students, ensuring alignment with individual needs and academic goals.
REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold or be eligible to hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
- Experience working with high school students in an educational setting (required).
- Post-baccalaureate certification or degree in Inclusive Education or Special Education in preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with students with diverse learning needs and backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Garden Valley Collegiate is a grades 9-12 high school that is located on Main Street in the city of Winkler. We have an estimated student population of 650, a teaching staff of almost 50 and a support staff of 25.
