Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA) is a private Alberta accredited Christian school located in the Southwest of Calgary, Alberta, specializing in the education of children in grades K-9. GCA is a member of AISCA (Association of Independent Schools and Colleges in Alberta) as well as ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). GCA’s mission is to Teach Truth, Inspire Excellence, Experience Christ and Server through Love. GCA has a head of school, two principals and a staff of over 125 serving approximately 1000 students.

GCA is looking for a Part-Time Fundraising & Special Events Coordinator. The projected start date for this position is Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The successful candidate will be highly professional, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated with strong technology skills .

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for the part-time Fundraising & Special Events Coordinator will be wide in scope and will include many different tasks and responsibilities. Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

● Jr. High YWAM & Camp Homewood Fundraising, including coordination of events:

- Silent Auction

- Pancake Breakfast

- Fundraisers (flowers, Purdy’s, applies, meat, hoodies, etc.)

● Jr. High Overnight Field Trip Support

- Permission forms, booking of: flights, camps, experiences, bussing, and verifying volunteer information, and coordinating teacher coverage, etc.

- Applicable to retreats / experiences in each Grade (Grade 6, 7, & 9 retreats at SABC, Grade 8 Camp at Camp Homewood, Grades 8, 7, 9 Fernie field trips, Grades 6 & 7 Nakiska field trips)

● Jr. High Mexico Mission Trip Support

- Coordinating parent information meetings, coordinating parent volunteers, assisting families in YWAM registration, gathering and following up on permission forms and travel documentation.

- Booking and managing flights.

● Jr. High Travel Club Support

- Assisting in parent meetings, collection of paperwork

● Jr. High Spring Production

- Ticketing, directing front of house, matinee promotion and coordination

● Jr. High Fine Arts Evening

- Planning, coordinating, and executing

● Jr. High Grade 9 Graduation

- Chair committee, lead volunteers, event planning, sourcing all materials & contractors

● Jr. High Awards Ceremony

- Organizing, decorating, setting up and working back-stage

● Elementary Christmas Concert

- Ticketing

- Plan / organize usher volunteers to assist parents / guests to their seats

● Golf Tournament

- Executing and managing event, including organizing golf committee, preparing swag bags, coordinating with golfers and sponsors, coordinating communications, and coordinating with golf venue, etc.

● Staff awards & retirement ceremony

- Tracking recipients, ordering awards, planning event(s)

● Staff Christmas Celebration

- Coordinate and organize event with venue and Social Committee and communicate with staff

● ACSI Teacher Convention

- When hosted at GCA, organizing convention, planning rooms and spacing, etc.

● Other events as required



Qualifications/Skills

Qualifications:

- Is able to clearly express his or her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour

- Agrees wholeheartedly with and abides by the GCA Statement of Faith - without reservation

- Successful completion of a Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Sector Search to be completed no later than 6 weeks after employment

Skills:

- Highly organized and able to juggle multiple tasks, timelines and resources

- Effective communication skills

- Excellent English written and oral communication skills

- Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines

- Proven attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities

- Ability to be flexible and adaptable should plans need to change unexpectedly

- Ability to work effectively independently or in teams giving and taking direction

- Self-starter who is able to set priorities and meet deadlines



Job Type

This is a 0.5 part time position continuing position. Weekly hours will vary based on events and projects.

Glenmore Christian Academy offers a compensation package competitive with public schools in Alberta.
