About the Role

As Senior Strategic Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships within the large and enterprise segments at senior/strategic levels.

The primary responsibilities will include developing and executing growth strategies, overseeing a support team, and ensuring the achievement of sales and profitability objectives. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, the ability to analyze performance metrics, and effective communication to build and maintain long-term client relationships. Additionally, it involves researching and understanding where the best market opportunities are based on prospects, capabilities, and resources, and properly deploying the correct tactics and strategies to maximize results.

Salary:  This position is base salary plus commission.  Salary range $90-115k.

 

Responsibilities

Revenue & Profitable Growth (30%) 

  • Responsible for the growth and retention of the existing client base.
  • Present solutions that relate directly to key needs and business issues of customer.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for attaining agreed upon sales objectives.  Continually evaluates business development opportunities in support of ongoing profitable growth. 
  • Engaged in sales activities outside of the office, face-to-face, including, but not limited to, creating relationships with decision influencers, decision makers, end users, current buyers and new prospects within a company on a regular basis. 
  • Retain current customer base and expand footprint through cross/up sell opportunities. 
  • Ensure Grand & Toy can earn appropriate profitability based on customer profile in volume, size and service requirements.  

 

Organization Development and/or Matrix Teamwork (30%)

  • Lead or work with others to ensure the organization is focused on the aggressive profitable growth of products and services within their accounts. 
  • Provides direction and coaching to associates as needed to reinforce their professional capabilities. 
  • Maintains a direct level of communication with the Sales Director or above in support of an integrated work environment.

 

Business Development (20%)

  • Be responsible for identifying, prospecting, and securing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth outside of existing contracts.

 

Strategic Planning (10%)

  • Lead and execute the strategic planning process to develop the "road map" for profitable business growth for their accounts.
  • Continually refresh plan performance milestones to levels that are achievable but challenging to grow the account profitably.

 

Marketing Development and Vendor Relationships (10%)

  • Provide leadership guidance and support in the development and management of marketing strategies to enable optimal business growth within their accounts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Consultative sales and negotiations experience in a commercial sales environment
  • Proven understanding and success in sales deployment strategies to maximize results
  • Ability to manage and lead complex accounts within a multi-channel large organization
  • Decision making ability with a bias for action and sense of urgency.
  • Capacity to execute work in a rapid and efficient manner
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating and meeting client requirements
  • In-depth understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Sales, BComm, BASc, Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Availability to travel as needed
