Specifically, the Financial and Administrative Manager's main responsibilities are to:
- Financial and Budget Planning: Develop annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with management, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost optimization
- Accounting Management: Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including accounts payable and receivable, management accounting, and monthly and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with Canadian standards
- Internal Control and Compliance: Implement and maintain effective internal control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial transactions and regulatory compliance. Conduct regular audits to improve risk management processes
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and present financial analyses, including variance analyses and performance indicators, to support management decisions. Produce detailed reports to evaluate the company’s profitability and performance
- Cash and Currency Management: Manage cash flow and ensure availability of funds necessary for operations. Participate in currency management and credit risk assessment for clients
- Human Resources Management: Lead the accounting, finance, and payroll teams while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Set annual objectives and performance criteria for team members and participate in recruiting and training
- Strategic Development: Contribute to the overall strategy of Tessier and Boréal by integrating financial dimensions, including ROI, working capital management, and the assessment of acquisition and development opportunities
- Performance Management of Systems: Collaborate on the implementation of information systems and management reports to monitor the company’s financial, operational, and environmental performance
