Description
The Pneumatics & Hydraulics Branch Manager is responsible for leading the operations of the branch, ensuring the efficient delivery of pneumatic and hydraulic solutions to customers, and overseeing the daily activities of the team. The role involves managing both sales and technical functions, driving business growth, and ensuring high levels of customer service, while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily branch operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and technical support for both pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
- Ensure efficient operation of the workshop, ensuring that all equipment is maintained and functioning properly.
- Manage product stocking levels, ordering, and deliveries to meet customer demands and ensure a consistent supply of materials.
- Develop and implement operational procedures that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
- Lead the sales efforts in the branch, developing strategies to meet sales targets for both pneumatics and hydraulics products.
- Build relationships with key customers, contractors, and partners to drive business growth and maintain long-term customer satisfaction.
- Identify new business opportunities, including potential markets for both hydraulic and pneumatic solutions.
- Prepare quotations, bids, and proposals for customers while ensuring competitiveness and profitability.
- Lead and manage the branch team, including technical staff, sales personnel, and support teams.
- Train and mentor team members on product knowledge, safety protocols, and effective customer service.
- Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages employee engagement and professional development.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to improve team performance and productivity.
- Provide technical assistance and expertise in the areas of hydraulics and pneumatics to customers, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and emerging technologies in the field of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Develop and present technical training materials to internal staff and customers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all aspects of the branch’s operations.
- Monitor the financial performance of the branch, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Ensure the branch operates within its budget while meeting or exceeding profitability targets.
- Analyze financial data and sales reports to identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure adherence to all local regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements for the operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Conduct regular safety audits and enforce safety protocols within the branch.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment for employees and customers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in the pneumatics and hydraulics industry, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, components, and applications.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve business objectives.
Sales Experience: Experience in sales or business development, particularly in the industrial or engineering sectors.
Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to resolve complex issues and provide tailored solutions.
Financial Acumen: Experience with budget management, financial reporting, and cost control.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and team members.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and provide effective solutions quickly.
Desirable Attributes:
- Knowledge of industry-specific software tools (e.g., CRM, ERP systems).
- Familiarity with CAD or other technical design tools related to pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing markets and customer requirements.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials when necessary.
- Comfort in working in environments that may require standing, bending, or lifting for extended periods.
