We are seeking a Packaging & Food Technologist to join one of our clients in the food industry in Montreal!

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee renovation projects for current products and cost reduction initiatives based on established schedules and parameters;
  • Coordinate and organize production tests for new or developing products by collaborating with stakeholders from various departments. Follow the established timelines;
  • Support the product developer in creating new recipes;
  • Oversee and streamline the transfer of new products into production;
  • Compile the necessary documentation for production tests, initial production runs, and the shipment of samples to clients;
  • Engage actively in projects related to the implementation of new equipment or the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes;
  • Collaborate closely with the lead of new product development (Senior Product Developer);
  • Serve as a technical expert by responding to questions from internal departments;
  • Foster strong interactions between internal teams in R&D, Sales, Operations, and Quality to ensure smooth project progress;
  • Organize regular tastings of competitor products available in the retail and restaurant markets and generate analysis reports on competitive products;
  • Contribute to any other special projects or related tasks as needed.

Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology (FST) or Food Engineering and/or equivalent work experience;
  • 3-to 8 years of relevant experience in the food industry in research and development or other relevant experience;
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint software;
  • Leadership and strong communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and structure a large amount of information;
  • Autonomy, initiative, and resourcefulness;
  • Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.
