Working within the inter-professional WSIB Specialized Program team, the Registered Kinesiologist will provide functional testing, treatment, management and education to progress individuals with work-related injuries. We are looking for an individual with demonstrated competencies in the clinical assessment and treatment of chronic pain, musculoskeletal injuries, and mental health within the adult population an asset. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in the injured worker population, functional testing and return to work planning. Additional experience in disability management field would be preferred. You will be working to treat clients to enable them them to reach their fully functional and work reintegration potential in collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Complete functional assessments, FAE, and job match assessments
- Provide exercise prescription
- Progress exercises based on client's tolerance and pain levels
- Support case management with the inter-professional team and provider
- Assist with preparing progress and discharge reports
- Assist with building strong rapport with clients and anticipate client's needs
- Participate in clinical rounds to support care planning
- University Degree is Kinesiology or Human Kinetics
- Registration in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Experience with Exercise Progression
- Two (2) years related experience in the assessment and treatment of patients with MSK injuries, including chronic pain, and work-related injuries
- Knowledge of active rehab protocols
- FAE and return to work planning skills preferred
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- The ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- The desire to work hard to improve your skills
- Empathy with an effective ability to build rapport with patients
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to facilitate our clients’ needs by exceeding their goals
- Experience in interdisciplinary care considered an asset
Hours: Mon - Fri, Various rotating 7.5 hour shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $35.924 to $41.370 per hour
