Job Description

Reports on a daily basis to the Patient Care Manager while facilitating both the learning and staffing needs of the nursing team. Co-ordinates the daily activity and assists in patient population decision making of the unit/area. Accepts and completes special projects as assigned. Monitors the unit/area supplies in conjunction with the Patient Care Manager. Co-ordinates and monitors the continuous Quality Management activities of the unit/area.

Qualifications

  • Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing education. BScN preferred or in progress.
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • CNA CPMHN certification preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a CRN in Mental Health
  • Respond positively to stress, understand the impact of change and demonstrates an ability to manage change
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated teaching, interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Proven ability to work as a team member with peers, Program Leaders, Patient Care Managers, Professional Practice Clinician, Physicians, and other multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Ability to co-ordinate activities within all areas of the program (e.g. researching, introducing, and implementing a new standard of care)
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing education.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record.

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.

Additional Information

Hours: Monday to Sunday, 12 hour shifts, 0730-1930 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)

Salary: $43.25 to $60.15 per hour
