As a Performance Analytics Consultant, you will report to the Manager, Performance Analytics and serve as a trusted expert with advanced knowledge of complex health datasets. You will support clinical and other program areas within the organization, leveraging your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to elicit requirements from stakeholders and deliver high-quality analytics.
As a key member of our team, you will leverage your data and analytics expertise to enable data-driven decision-making. Your work will make a significant impact by driving operational excellence and ensuring high-quality patient care. Responsibilities:
- Guide and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide value-added analysis of local, regional, and provincial information to support performance reporting.
- Regularly meet with program leaders to support deliverables and identify opportunities to empower a data-driven culture through routine and ad hoc data and analytics requests including development of key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, dashboards and/or real-time metrics.
- Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop effective reports, visualizations and dashboards using complex and diverse data leveraging modern BI Tools (i.e. Power BI).
- Translate business needs to operational requirements in analytics (e.g. reports, dashboards, etc.)
- Utilize SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Excel and other analytic tools or software programs to extract, visualize and manipulate data.
- Leverage excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) to elicit analytical requirements, establish trust with stakeholders, and adapt to different styles of communication and levels of technology awareness.
- Produce high quality ad hoc and standardized reports customized by project, tailored to different end-users.
- Identify opportunities to automate data, including data collection, tracking, trending and reporting.
- Prepare data for analysis (e.g. appending and merging data from multiple sources, as well as understanding overall data quality).
- Develop and maintain documentation and technical specifications for all reporting.
- Support in ad hoc report development, projects and other team needs
- Participate in other Performance Analytics functions where required that may include providing additional program support and corporate reporting
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering/Computer Sciences; Health Informatics; Health Administration, Health Sciences, Business; or other degree with equivalent experience
- 3-5 years relevant experience required in a health-related Performance Analytics or Decision Support environment, hospital experience preferred.
- Certifications in business analysis, data science, statistics, HIM (e.g. CHIMA member) or a Master’s Degree are beneficial assets.
- Proven skill in accessing and manipulating data from diverse data sources using SQL, Power Pivot, Power Query or other common tools and a familiarity with data model techniques sufficient for data profiling and data quality assessment.
- Advanced Office Tools: e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power Pivot.
- Knowledge of CIHI Coding (DAD/NACRS), National (CMG+) and Ontario-specific (HBAM) Grouping Methodologies, CMG, RIW, HIGS, CACS and ELOS methodologies including performance indicators and benchmarking activities.
- Experience with Python or R an asset.
- Experience with Meditech or other EMR systems an asset.
- Experience creating analytical reports, for example with Power BI / Power Pivot (Excel)
- Expert knowledge of a broad range of data visualization techniques and multiple data visualization or reporting tools.
- Understanding of information processing including logical data modelling, relational, tabular, and multi-dimensional data models.
- Enthusiastic about data and can envision how data can support decision making to enable operational efficiencies and to improve patient outcomes.
- Detail oriented, skilled at eliciting requirements from stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize and advance multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines

Hours: Monday to Friday - Various 7.5 hour day shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs).
Salary: $51.537 to $63.851 per hour
