Job Summary
 
As a member of the team and under the general direction of the Manager, this position is accountable for the day to day operations of the department including program 
development, implementation, delivery and evaluation, supervision of team members, clinical case management, professional training, community education and development.  
The position requires the use of high order knowledge, clinical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to coach, mentor, orientate and provide education to the team members. 
Drawing on standards of practice for case management, professional codes of ethics and standards of practice in health care, program policy and procedures and, relevant 
legislation, the incumbent will ensure that the team provides high quality client service and standards of practice are maintained.

Education

Recognized Degree in Chemical Dependency Studies or Social Work, or a degree acceptable by the employer with relevant experience 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 
Knowledge of criminal justice system and the correlation between criminality, addiction, mental health and offending behaviour.  Must possess good crisis/problem solving skills 
when working with challenging clients who are dealing with addiction/mental health issues.  Must be familiar with community resources available to enhance the support for 
clients/families who are dealing with addiction issues. A strong knowledge of the best practices associated with treating addictions and/or addiction related issues and the effects of 
addictions on, families and the community. Ability to accurately assess addictions and/or addiction related issues and make appropriate recovery plans and referrals. Individual, 
group and crisis management/stabilization counseling skills. Ability to promote healthy lifestyles with diverse populations in urban and rural settings. Knowledge of group 
dynamics and the ability to implement these in clinical process groups. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize. 
Efficient computer skills.
