Job Description: The Assessor Coordinator is responsible for promoting the Mission, Vision and Values of Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region through provision of safe quality care to clients. He/she is responsible for the provision of assessment, intervention, brief counseling, advice, information and referral about Saskatchewan Mental Health and Addictions Services to callers/clients from all age groups.

Experience

  • 2 years working experience in community mental health and addictions services

Education

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

Other Education and Training

  • Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
  • Training/experience in Addictions Counseling/Suicide Intervention is preferred

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act/related legislation
  • Strong assessment skills required to determine callers’ needs
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Ability to work with various electronic, IT and manual resources
  • Ability to respond to clients' varying concerns and complex requests
  • Ability to multitask
