Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, the Health Educator, as part of the Chronic Pain team, will engage in community development and health outreach activities. The Health Educator is responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing and evaluating population based programs which are directed towards chronic pain within the Saskatchewan Health Authority. The Health Educator will work in conjunction with community-based organizations and Primary Health Care to create opportunities for capacity building and preventive activities that will address population identified barriers.
Education
- Requires a degree in Public Health or other related recognized degree.
- If applicable, must have practicing registration with appropriate licensing body.
Experience
- Experience working in a Chronic Pain setting is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of:
- Community development theories and principles and their applications.
- Chronic pain modalities and principles.
- Community based organizations and governmental service sector.
- Program planning and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to:

Other Information
- This is a community based position providing services in clinic and home settings. Travel required to various community sites, including rural, within the Primary Health Care Networks (Regina). Home base for this position is: 4006 Dewdney Avenue.
- Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
