Job Summary: As a member of Mental Health and Addiction Services, the Community Mental Health Nurse is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team providing intensive case management to individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. These services are provided within an individual and group context. Responsibilities include intensive case management, medication management, crisis intervention, counselling, goal planning, consultation to community agencies, group/community education, student mentoring, documentation, client/family and public education, advocacy, and mental health promotion.

Experience
- Five (5) years clinical experience in the specific department/area
Education
- Workplace Assessment and Violence Education certificate (WAVE)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)
Other Education and Training
- Professional Assault Response Training (PART)
- Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
