GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

As a member of the Care Services Division management team and a clinical leader in the department, the Provincial Manager, Systemic Therapy & Outpatient Services is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients at the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency (SCA).

The Provincial Manager monitors compliance with nursing practice standards to ensure that high quality nursing care is provided to cancer patients. The Provincial Manager works in a collaborative manner with other departments within the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and Saskatchewan Health Authority to ensure that quality patient care is provided. 

The Provincial Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient operation of provincial cancer referral services and the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of STOPS nursing department policies, procedures, clinical protocols and medical directives within the province. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise in oncology nursing, and a deep understanding of healthcare policy and procedures.

The Provincial Manager provides program leadership and direction for the staff in the Referral Centres in Regina and Saskatoon while supporting and actualizing the goals of the division of Care Services. This responsibility includes: the referral centre, new patient clinic bookings, and specialized & advanced oncology services such as advanced practice nursing and/or disease site navigation.

The Provincial Manager ensures the work environment enables and supports excellence in nursing practice and promotes high quality work life and safety for department staff.

The Provincial Manager will be expected to act in the absence of the Site Manager of Systemic Therapy & Support and/or the Site Manager of Outpatient Services.

The Provincial Manager may be expected to act in the absence of the Director.
