Job Description: The Safety Consultant is accountable for the application of safety practices & standards to protect, promote & maintain the health & safety of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). Responsible for the implementation of the SHA Management System that supports the existing Safety Program. Responsible to ensure consistent application of all patient & staff safety legislation/regulations/practices/quality improvement methodologies/client concern handling. Expectation to maintain quality & safety as outlined in the SHA Quality & Safety Plan & support the deployment & replication of the SHA Management System. Support functions & duties related to Patient & Staff Safety/Quality Improvement/Concern Handling. Participate & lead efforts to link with key stakeholders to support safety & continuous quality improvement at all levels of the organization. The Consultant may also support project teams. Effectively work with staff/leaders/physicians to integrate best practices & standards.

Experience
- Experience in a discipline related role in the specific department/area/program
- Experience in health care
Education:
- Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
- Undergraduate degree in a health related field
- Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
