Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality instruction in Exploring Technology to Grade 9 students.
Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of communication technology concepts and applications.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements to integrate real-world examples into the curriculum.
Design and administer assessments to measure student understanding and progress.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-disciplinary connections and contribute to the overall educational and co curricular experience.
Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and innovative teaching methods.
Integrate sustainability concepts into the curriculum where applicable.
Encourage and promote environmentally conscious practices within the classroom and the College community.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-disciplinary connections and contribute to the overall educational experience.
Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and innovative teaching methods.
Contribute to the College community through involvement in arts or athletics co-curricular activities and/or support and mentor students in extracurricular projects related to communication technology.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Communication Technology or a related field.
Proven experience teaching Communication Technology at the high school level.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite - including Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere.
Proficiency in Trimble SketchUp.
Knowledge and understanding of the Google Workspace.
