Regular part time .60 FTE position with an additional temporary .40 FTE until return of incumbent on April 18, 2025. On April 19, 2025, the position will become a regular part time .60 FTE

Hours of work Monday - Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Horizon School Division is searching for a part time permanent Family School Liaison Counsellor. The successful candidate must hold a degree in Social Work, or a master’s degree in counselling or related discipline. The candidate must be registered or eligible for a professional association including Canadian Counselling Association, College of Alberta Psychologists, College of Social Workers or The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta. Experience in counselling children and adolescents is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be required to provide counselling services for students at our Taber and Rural area schools.
The Family School Liaison Counsellor is required to:
provide one-to-one counselling for students/families
facilitate counselling groups for students
provide classroom presentations
liaison with other professionals in the community
provide crisis response intervention in the schools
