Position Objective:

The Pharmacy Department at Humber River Health plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe distribution and service of medications to patients which facilitates successful patient treatment outcomes in compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation standards. The management and distribution of our medications is critical in ensuring we are able to consistently deliver the high-quality, safe care that we are known for. We are seeking a Program Director, Pharmacy Services, reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Nursing Executive & Chief Clinical Services, to lead our team of professionals to continue advancing our innovative pharmacy operations. The incumbent will be accountable for all pharmaceutical care in a highly automated environment including drug procurement, safe distribution and dispensing functions for inpatient and outpatient prescriptions, and all clinical and patient focused programs related to Pharmacy Services. The Program Director provides direct leadership and support to the Pharmacy management team and works collaboratively with the leadership across the organization to ensure strategic oversight of safe and effective medication use and practices.

 

Career Experience and Core Competencies:Our ideal candidate holds a Degree in Pharmacy (PharmD) and eligible to practice in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists - Part A license (direct patient care). You have 5 years’ leadership experience in an unionized setting coupled with solid clinical pharmacist experience in a fast-paced hospital environment. Sound knowledge and experience with logistics and purchasing in an enterprise environment, pharmacy automation systems, continuous quality improvement methodology is required for this role. Membership in good standing with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP) is preferred.
