Right now we’re looking for a Psychologist to work in the Child and Adolescence Mental Health and Addictions Inpatient Program.

 

Location: Wilson Site

Hours of work: must be available to work Monday-Friday (preferably Tuesdays to Thursdays) 8:30am-4:30pm shifts, with flexibility on shifts.

Employee Group: OPSEU 590

Hourly Rate Range: $61.50-$79.75/hour

 

Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with Child and Adolescent  Mental Health interdisciplinary team will plan and implement comprehensive psychological assessments using clinical interviews, behavioral, personality adaptive / developmental and cognitive/ neuropsychological measures; administer and interpret psychometric measures to assess behavior, personality, social-emotional functioning, cognitive functioning and academic achievement; provide feedback and recommendations (both oral and comprehensive written reports ) to  families, the interdisciplinary team for all assessments to clarify diagnosis, guide treatment and suggest educational accommodation for young patients; plan, implement and evaluate diverse empirically based interventions with children, adolescents and their families; and participate in  discharge planning and coordination of services within the hospital and in the community, as needed.
  • Communicate and record patient assessments results, progress reports in accordance with hospital policy and Standards of Professional Conduct.
  • Consult with other staff members and or community professionals including developing,   implementing and evaluating inpatient and or outpatient interventions implemented by the treatment team and other professionals within the patient’s circle of care
  • Assist in providing in-service education, as required.
  • Participate in planning, preparation, facilitation and evaluation of new and existing programs and services within the program.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate /Masters Ph.D in clinical psychology in area of Child/ Adolescent MH required
  • Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Child and Adolescent  mental health, primarily in the area of psychological and/or education assessments is required. Experience working with the School Board (e.g. Toronto District School Board) preferred
  • Must have experience working with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Meditech
  • Skills in undertaking psychological/ education assessments required
  • Demonstrated skills in modality of CBT preferred
  • An awareness and Knowledge/experience in Trauma Informed Care preferred
  • Experience in Project Management, preferred
  • Good knowledge of the Mental Healthcare
  • Excellent Interpersonal, tact, and diplomacy skills
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, presentation skills, as well as the ability  to teach/train others
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
