POSITION: LABORATORY SUPPORT I - Core Lab
Primary Site: Seaforth & Clinton
Regular Part-Time
(Shifts: days, evenings, nights, with possible on-call, 7 day/week coverage, may be subject to change)
POSITION SUMMARY: Under supervision of the Lab Manager and Laboratory Health Regulated Professionals, the Laboratory Support I performs venous and capillary collection on patients and provides support services to the laboratory. The position is responsible for the operation of laboratory analysers and producing test results that will be verified by a Medical Laboratory Technologist
REPORTS TO: Technical Manager, HPHA Laboratory Services
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $32.95 to $34.96 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Laboratory Assistant/Technician Certification
- Graduate of an accredited MLA training program and having successfully completed the CSMLS MLA examination
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent related experience in a similar setting preferred.
ABILITIES:
- Familiar with phlebotomy techniques.
- Familiar with all types of blood collection
- Familiar with Lab Analysers.
- Computer literate.
- Organized and self-directed.
- Works well under supervision and with others.
- Good communication skills.
