POSITION: Registered Technologist II, MRI

POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Technologist II, MRI is responsible for the safe, effective and efficient performance of a variety of Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Medical Imaging

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $36.84 to $51.77 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Imaging accredited program with MRI certification.
- Registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario
- Registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists or Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Sciences recommended
- Current CPR certification
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous experience as MRI technologist preferred.

ABILITIES:
- Maintaining an effective working relationship with patients, physicians, hospital staff and the public.
- Demonstrated commitment to his/her ongoing professional development and continuing education (i.e. awareness of own personal/professional education needs, and self-initiation of actions to meet those needs
- Demonstrated ability to act quickly and effectively when dealing with emergencies with patients and staff
- Able to exercise courtesy and understanding in dealing with patients, medical personnel, visitors, other staff and members of other departments.
- Able to recognize and react appropriately, both mentally and physically, to emergent/critical situations, incidents and adverse reactions. This would encompass following Hospital/Departmental policies & procedures, maintaining a calm and professional composure and assuming a leadership role when required to support staff.
- Able to react to unpredictable situations with critically/acutely ill patients having physical limitations, to ensure patient safety.

Technical Skills
- Quality Control processes for all equipment related to MRI
- Knowledge of all equipment and auxiliary products used in MRI
