NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE - OPERATING ROOM
Stratford and Clinton sites
Regular Part-Time
(Shifts: 8-hour shifts, days, evenings, weekends, on-call, 7 days/week may be subject to change)
REPORTS TO: Manager, Surgical Services
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $35.99 to $38.16 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Registration and Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
- Operating Room Nurse Certificate from a recognized program
- Appropriate added nursing skills, i.e., medication, d/c IV, catheterization
- Asepsis Course, CPR
- Knowledge of surgical equipment/instruments/ procedures
- Two years recent operating room (perioperative) experience preferred
ABILITIES:
- Ability to return to work within 20 minutes when on standby /on-call
- Ability to plan and organize effectively
- Ability to respond appropriately in an emergency
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing continuing education
