Perform an analytical engineering/statistical function relating to the work, performance and business needs of the Company's outage and network management system.. Participate in specification, implementation and operation of the outage management system. Assist in the daily work during storm/emergency situations if required. Prepare and assess needs and functionality for the Outage Management System (OMS), Emergency Management System (EMS) or other similar systems. Provide technical related support services and leadership in the provision of such services, to personnel involved in the activities associated with planning, design, project engineering and equipment. Identify opportunities to improve applications as required by the regulator and to meet performance targets. Conduct special studies, produce reports and assemble resource information to support recommendations. Prepare user training for implementation of business improvements. Ensure the connectivity of the OMS, EMS or similar systems is accurate and develop processes for same. Assist in the interface requirements with various management information/interactive systems such as: OMS, EMS, SAP, IVR, SCADA, CSS or similar. Prepare reports for staff, stakeholders and regulators to meet regulatory requirements. Initiate action to acquire statistical and forecast data on the transmission and distribution systems. Provide processes in order to investigate customer damage claims for recommendation of payment, Tx Cable Locating services, and customer notifications. Carry out system and equipment studies. Provide supervision to staff performing related functions and including website creation/maintenance and support internal and external communications, building security and administrative support services for mastercard maintenance and timesheet preparation and corrections. Provide assistance in the daily work during storm/emergency situations.

Job Description:

  • Supervise, plan and organize staff engaged in work activities such as internal/external communications, building security and administrative support services for mastercard maintenance, timesheet preparation and corrections. Schedule and assign work to staff with instructions, direct them on their problem areas and review and evaluate their performance. Develop and implement work procedures and systems required. Make effective recommendations on human resource matters including interviewing and selection of candidates and handle routine human resource problems. Establish performance measures and perform reviews. Provide clear expectations and meaningful feedback. Provide guidance, assistance and support to staff in the resolution of personnel problems and establish and maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Prepare, operate, maintain and develop reports for the Outage Management System (OMS) and Network Management Systems (NMS) applications (or similar) for the Company.
  • Prepare, assess and forecast needs and functionality required for the OMS, EMS and other systems to meet Regulator and business needs and various performance targets. Identify and seek out opportunities to improve systems including functional and design specifications, engineering and technical standards, guides, training materials, policies, procedures and processes to interface with a variety of stakeholders throughout the company.
  • Assist the Manager in the planning of work programs, budgets, departmental performance reports and other activities.
  • Conduct special studies, produce reports and assemble resource information, to support recommendations on OMS, EMS and other systems including enhancements to the connectivity model, in service packages, change control and a variety of reports. Lead improvement programs, techniques and practices to support targets and substantiate through presentations in a variety of media including but not limited desktop applications, website applications, creations and maintenance.
  • Assess and recommend for approval, all planned maintenance outages. Prepare all necessary information for notification of affected customers. Review and resolve customer issues which may result from the department's activities.
  • Perform a maintenance updating function for the OMS, EMS, SAP, IVR, SCADA, CSS and other similar applications associated with functions that may include data maintenance and collection, Tx cable locates, telephony, customer notifications and damage claims as real-time data changes and customer acquisitions are implemented.
  • Obtain necessary data for problem solution including arranging for tests and measurements. Discuss various features with appropriate personnel, as required.
  • Develop solutions to problems for consideration and produce the necessary documentation to substantiate recommendations.
  • Specify technical interface application requirements for various Company management systems.
  • Prepare reports for staff, stakeholders and Regulators, as needed.
  • Assess the accuracy of the existing connectivity data and acquired Mergers and Acquisitions. Develop processes to ensure data integrity and perform ongoing review.
  • Provide assistance during storm/emergency situations.
  • Perform other duties as required
