ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This Commercial Underwriter is responsible for operating within defined guidelines and service standards, manages commercial property and casualty policies to contribute to the profitability of the business portfolio. You will be responsible for developing long term relationships with the extensive network of brokers across Canada, underwrite various risks including niche and specialized risks .

ABOUT THE POSITION

• Quote, negotiate, and approve new business, renewals, and endorsements.
• Collaborate with assigned brokers to align with regional commercial business goals for profitability and retention.
• Make risk selection decisions within established authority, adhering to underwriting guidelines.
• Perform broker visits to promote company's commercial products and drive growth.
• Offer technical training and development support as needed.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 2 years experience in Commercial P&C Underwriting
• Proficient in selecting, underwriting, and managing commercial accounts.
• Familiar with Commercial Lines underwriting techniques, guidelines, forms, coverages, and rates.
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities, with a collaborative team-oriented approach.

COMPENSATION

• $60,000 - $80,000 salary depending on experience plus annual bonus
