Construction Litigation lawyer

Impact Recruitment is currently working with an exceptional litigation law firm in downtown Toronto, looking for an experienced, talented, and eager associate to join their construction litigation practice group.

This firm has been a staple in the legal community, having provided top notch litigation services for more than two decades. With approximately 80 lawyers practicing at the firm, they have developed a strong background in all areas of civil litigation. At the forefront of the practice is an exceptional and notable capability to handle the unique complexities that lie within the construction sector, assisting parties such as owners and developers, contractors, lenders, engineering firms, and others. They take the mentorship and development of their team very seriously and have an excellent training and mentorship program to foster and cement skills paramount for a successful litigation practice.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This position is available due to the amount of work present in the team. Working closely with other associates in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, and reporting to the Partners of the group, the ideal candidate for this busy position would be comfortable with working on disputed matters including but not limited to builder liens, construction risk mitigation, disputes relating to payment delays, defects, omissions, and insurance coverage issues. This firm consistently engages with clients all throughout Canada and beyond, on projects ranging from residential developments to large infrastructure projects. As such, experience working on / leading on multi-billion-dollar files would be valued and appreciated.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Be in good standing and called to the Ontario Bar, or have the ability to be called
• Strong academics
• 2 - 6 years of experience with construction litigation, or interest in developing construction litigation practice
• Be willing to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
