Director of Corporate Governance

A rare and exciting opportunity for one of our favourite employers in Vancouver is looking for a Director with experience in Corporate Governance, Board Management, or Legal & Regulatory Affairs. You will play an instrumental role in helping an organization navigate the complex regulatory environment with huge social impact.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Director and part of the management team, the incumbent is responsible for the Corporate Governance function of the company. You will provide strategic guidance on governance matters, establishing internal frameworks and promote best practices. In addition, you will also act as the Corporate Secretary reporting directly to the Board Chair to ensure effective communication and relations between senior management and the board of directors.

This position would play a key role in upholding compliant corporate governance standards to help steer the organization in the right direction of social impact.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• At least 8 years of experience in a corporate governance, legal or regulatory focused leadership position
• Experience working in an industry with complex regulations, such as banking, public service and gaming
• Strong stakeholder management skills to work with senior management and board of directors.
• Experience acting as the corporate secretary and understanding of board procedures
• Legal experience would be a plus
