ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Vancouver's largest Law firms located in the heart of Downtown. You will work closely with the Director of your team who works out of Vancouver while the rest of your team operate out of Toronto. This is a new role created for the Vancouver office, so it's an opportunity to get in on the ground floor. You will be afforded a flexible hybrid work schedule to accommodate the new role and the rest of your team operating on the East Coast.

ABOUT THE POSITION

In this position, you will be reporting to the Director of E- Discovery Services who operates out of Vancouver. Your day to day will involve managing projects and tasks within the Vancouver E-Discovery Services Group. Your duties will include but are not limited:

ESI Management

  • Collaborate with legal teams to identify and collect ESI
  • Distribute custodian questionnaires and conduct custodian interviews
  • Instruct clients on self-collection and document the collection process
  • Track, label, transfer, store and delete ESI
  • Execute counsel and client requests related to ESI

Vendor Management

  • Provide instructions to vendors for tasks, such as paper scanning, coding, workspace creation, ESI processing, and production preparation.
  • Manage vendor invoices, including verification, reporting, and storage
  • Maintain Vendor estimates, proposals and pricing information

Workspace Management

  • Manage the lifecycle of workspaces from setup to disposition.
  • Oversee ESI and document review processes
  • Complete and maintain workspace logs, reports and checklists
  • Fulfill counsel requests related to workspace management and document identification, review, importing and exporting data, oversight and generation of production exports and schedules to Lists of Documents, etc.

Training and process Improvement

  • Contribute to process improvement by creating or editing checklists, templates, and playbooks.
  • Provide software or process related training sessions to firm employees, clients, etc.
  • Professional and technical development though e-discovery
  • certifications and regularly attending industry webinars, training sessions, etc.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 - 3+ of experience with litigation, ideally in large firm setting
  • An e-discovery certification or ability to demonstrate technical proficiency with Relativity/e-discovery software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite software
  • Paralegal diploma/Legal Assistant certificate preferred
  • Understanding of Litigation procedures and requirements preferred
  • Highly organized, professional and excellent attention to detail in conjugation with strong communication skills as well as the ability to work independently

COMPENSATION

  • $60,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
  • 3 weeks vacation
