Family Lawyer

A Top Regional Law Firm in Toronto is seeking an experienced Family Lawyer with 5+ years of experience under their belt. This is a mixed practice position balancing between solicitor and litigation work. We're seeking candidates who can provide exceptional service to their clients. ABOUT THE COMPANY AND THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client, a Top Regional Law firm in Toronto, Ontario is looking for an experienced Family Lawyer with at least 5+ years of experience. This is an excellent opportunity to work with some of the most well regarded Family Lawyers in the region. At this full service law firm, lawyers will work with high net worth clientele, with many of the work trickling down from their corporate practice group. The ideal candidate for this position possess trial experience (second chair minimum preferred), strong writing skills, has thorough research and analysis skills, and excellent academics.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Conduct initial consultations with clients to assess their needs
• Thoroughly research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to family law cases in Ontario
• Manage family law files independently, including document preparation, filings, and deadlines
• Represent clients in family court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediation sessions, and present evidence and arguments
• Advocate for clients, ensuring their rights are protected and their interest are served
• Facilitate conflict resolution through alternative dispute resolutions
• Follow docketing practices
• Assist senior counsel on complex matters

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5+ years in Family Law in Ontario
• Excellent academics (B student and/or greater)
• Strong writing skills
• Some trial experience preferred

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION

• $180,000 /year or greater base salary DOE
• Annual bonus
