We have recently partnered with an industry-leading real estate investment, development and management company in Vancouver who is seeking an IT Support Technician to join their team!
ABOUT THE ROLE
The IT Support Technician will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer equipment, workstations and associated software. The IT Support Technician will also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to join an established organization that has experienced significant growth. This role will report to our Director, IT Operations.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Provide IT Desktop support to end-users. This includes all desktop computing hardware, software and peripherals
- Make diagnosis of system-related problems; determine between hardware, software and network related issues
- Take ownership for assigned incidents, problems and contact required resources both inside and outside the company as necessary
- Develop and maintain support documents and system for the technical team
- Identify and solve any problems that affect desktop computer operating systems, troubleshoot routine problems and maintenance of systems
- Maintain other relevant computer peripheral devices such as monitors, printers, etc.
- Prepare necessary computer equipment quotation for our users
- Identify areas of process improvement and create efficiencies within the role and department
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic Network Knowledge
- Familiar with assembling computers
- Be team oriented, motivated, and collaborative
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of work ethic
- Be proactive, conscientious and reliable
- Display service excellence when dealing with stakeholders
- Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work some shift work, including working weekends as needed for projects
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 1-2 years experience in a Tier 1 office IT support role
- Completion of a two-year diploma in computer information technology
- Experience in maintaining PC client workstation hardware, operating systems, applications, printers, mobile devices, networking.
- Direct experience and knowledge with troubleshooting remote user support
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Remote Virtual Desktop, such as Citrix WorkspaceHands-on experience with AV and Boardroom equipment
- Understanding of basic network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, as well as network hardware
- CompTIA A+ Certified
- BC Driver’s License (minimum class “N”) is an asset
