Impact Recruitment is partnering with a prestigious law firm based in Toronto to recruit for a Legal Assistant for their Corporate Commercial Practice.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a growing law firm based in Toronto. They require a legal assistant to join their corporate commercial practice, which is focused on meeting the evolving needs of individuals, national and multinational corporations, financial institutions, and other stakeholders in the business sector.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with 2+ years as a legal assistant with a background in corporate law and exceptional organizational skills.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:

  • Organize and distribute legal documents, manage the receipt of executed documents, and ensure proper filing and database updates.
  • Prepare share certificates and input corporate information into the corporate database, assigning minute book numbers.
  • Facilitate the closing of corporate records and draft letters/receipts to clients enclosing necessary documents.
  • Merge registers and ledgers for directors, officers, and shareholders from the database.
  • Draft report letters to clients regarding incorporations, name changes, and compile comprehensive report books.
  • Create basic resolutions for directors and shareholders, including changes to registered office addresses and officer modifications.
  • Order corporate profile reports and prepare Form 1 - Notices via Cyberbahn, assisting with electronic filings.
  • Undertake special projects such as creating organizational charts and reviewing minute books and registers.
  • Manage diary entries for future events and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Maintain minute book filing and import related documents into the corporate database.
  • Conduct general maintenance of Word documents and physical files.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Corporate Law; familiarity with CorpLink is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of documents in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with a strong willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capable of prioritizing workflow and managing critical details.
  • Completion of a Legal Assistant Diploma is an asset.

COMPENSATION

$50,000 - $65,000 per annum dependent on experience.
