About The Position

As a Mortgage Clerk, you will be responsible for managing residential mortgage refinancing transactions, ensuring they are processed efficiently and accurately. Your role will involve opening and closing files, handling registrations in the Land Title Office, reviewing and disbursing trust funds, and preparing final reports. You will work closely with lawyers and other team members, ensuring all transactions meet deadlines and legal requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receipting and reviewing instructions from lenders.
  • Opening and closing files.
  • Obtaining applicable searches.
  • Generating documents through E-Conveyance.
  • Receipting and reviewing executed security documents.
  • Attending to registrations in the Land Title Office.
  • Receipting and disbursing trust funds.
  • Final reporting and final due diligence.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Managing multiple files while meeting strict deadlines.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in residential mortgage refinancing or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and meet tight deadlines.
  • Technological proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Experience with e-filing and the ability to learn new software applications.
  • Experience with E-Conveyance is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both lawyers and staff in a team environment.
  • Must be able to travel to the office 5 days per week.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
  • Contract period: February 2025 - May 2026 (with the possibility of extension)
