Sr Tax Specialist

This is an excellent opportunity for a Tax Specialist who is looking for a new challenge and wants to work in a fast-paced environment!

Impact Recruitment has partnered with a well-established investment firm that has been in the industry for over 10 years. They are currently looking to add an experienced Tax Specialist to their team. The ideal candidate will have more than 3 years of relevant experience.

Benefits & Perks:

• Salary: $90,000 to $110,000

Responsibilities:
This role can be based in Vancouver or Toronto. Some of the duties include but are not limited to:

• Streamline and document essential internal controls/policies related to tax.
• Serve as the primary tax resource within the organization, focusing on funds and limited partnerships.
• Work with multiple funds and corporate structures and manage tax due diligence for new investment opportunities.
• Review and oversee the preparation of annual tax returns for U.S. and Canadian trusts, partnerships, corporations, and GST, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage tax slip cycle and ensure everything is filed correctly.
• Handle various tax initiatives and complete necessary tax forms.
• Perform tax research and prepare technical memos.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with external service providers, such as auditors and tax advisors.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• US tax experience is required.
• Public practice, investment or financial services industry is preferred.
• Completion of or working towards a CPA In-depth tax program.
• Strong understanding of cross-border tax compliance.
