Description
Our client is an independently owned brokerage with a head office in the heart of Toronto. They provide risk management solutions to commercial and personal clients all across Canada. Currently they are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their team!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working with the Underwriter to meet all targets and deadlines associated with the assigned book of business
- Completing renewal application 90 days prior to renewal and forward to client to update and return 60 days prior to renewal date
- Preparing new and renewal business which includes client letters, policy documentation, invoicing and financing contracts
- Processing and checking all endorsement documents
- Inputting information into database accurately and in a timely manner
- Invoicing all accounts in TAM appropriately
- Scanning, faxing, and photocopying other administrative support when required
- Screening client calls for underwriters and processing any client changes as required
- Reviewing and checking reconciliation reports and correcting any errors
- Setting up abeyances for missing signed documents and continuing to follow up until completed
- Processing and emailing non-renewal, cancellation and lapse letters to clients when required
- Processing liability slips, abstracts and auto plus reports
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required
REQUIREMENTS
- RIBO License preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months of employment
- CIP and/or CAIB designations or working actively working towards designation
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); Agency Manager (TAM) and other department-specific systems
- Minimum of 2 years administrative experience with 1 year of insurance experience preferred
