About the Job
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, within the context of client-centred care, and in accordance with departmental policies, the Combined Laboratory Transfusion Medicine Services and X-Ray Technologist (CLTMSXT) performs a variety of routine, x-ray, ECG, core laboratory, and transfusion medicine procedures. The position is also responsible for functions such as greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and related computer systems/programs, validating, and reporting test results, maintaining instruments, and preparing solutions and control agents, performing routine and preventative maintenance of equipment, and troubleshooting equipment problems as required. This position works in a team-based environment and under general supervision of an Operations Supervisor or Professional Practice Leader.

This is a Permanent Full Time (1.00) opportunity.

Qualfications
• Graduation from an approved Combined Laboratory X-Ray Technician program
• Successful completion of a certificate in transfusion medicine techniques from a recognized and/or accredited educational institution
• Eligible for registration with a provincial licensing body
• One year of general experience in laboratory and diagnostic imaging fields or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
