Position Summary
Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is seeking casual Medical Radiography Technologist (MRTs) to join the Medical Imaging Department.
Casual employment means work requirements can vary between 0 and 37.5 hours per week. Work will be available on a short-notice, on-call bases and/or blocks of shifts pre-scheduled to relieve leaves of absences. This position will work days/evenings with shift times being between 07:30 to 15:42, 08:00 to 16:12, 08:18 to 16:30, 08:48 to 17:00, 10:00 to 14:00, 16:00 to 00:12, 16:30 to 00:42
What Will You Work On?
The Medical Radiation Technologist performs radiographic/fluoroscopic and related duties working in conjunction with radiologists, physicians and other health care professionals.
Vernon Jubilee Hospital Diagnostic Imaging has a strong team approach with opportunities for on-going education and career growth. We are a teaching facility with students in all modalities. Our department has been filmless since November 2004 utilizing Fuji CR and Phillips DR with a McKesson PACS system. Our department has 3 general radiography rooms, 1 multi-purpose (Fluoro) room and 5 mobile x-ray machines.

Many nearby communities rely on our site for imaging resulting in a very busy and diverse atmosphere. The successful applicant will be providing X-ray services to inpatients and outpatients, making a difference within many communities.

Tailored orientation to successful applicant, position, department and hospital. We will provide opportunities for professional growth. We offer the opportunity for technologists to become cross trained in CT or Mammo. In addition, we have clinical advisory groups that are working together to ensure best practice throughout Interior Health.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a fast learner who has the ability to prioritize and work well within a team environment. The successful applicant will need to have to have critical care thinking, be flexible and have excellent communication.
Qualfications
Graduate of an accredited medical radiography program.
Current certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
