Description
Our client, a Canadian leader in parts distribution, with branches across Quebec, is looking to benefit from the experience of a distribution center director in Montreal to improve operations and support the team of supervisors in place.
As a distribution center director in Montreal, you will play a key role in continuous improvement by encouraging practices that promote this objective. You will optimize the distribution chain by strengthening your team and ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.
Profile Sought to Successfully Carry Out Your Mission:
- BAC or DEC in administration, logistics or related.
- Minimum of 5 years in the distribution field (distribution center, warehouse) with a unionized team.
- Experience in change management and implementation of continuous improvement processes in a professional environment, holding a Six Sigma certification is an asset.
- Results-oriented, ability to organize and adapt resources according to needs.
- Excellent communication skills in French and English, with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Experience working with unions and proven skills in conflict management.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety standards in distribution centers.
- Be motivated by results, know how to evolve in a fast-paced environment, create relationships and communicate well.
- Strong computer skills, particularly on MS Excel and Word and WMS system.

Requested skills
- Ensure sound management of all distribution center operations (production, logistics, quality, etc.) in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Supervise and support both supervisors and warehouse teams (day and evening), by managing recruitment, training, skills development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures if necessary.
- Train employees in warehouse processes, with an emphasis on the safe use of equipment and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Plan and manage shipping, receiving, inventory management and product distribution activities and ensure delivery times, etc., in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain performance indicators and develop new monitoring tools to improve performance (quality, costs and on-time delivery) and implement continuous improvement processes.
- Participate in various committees, health and safety, sometimes negotiate with the carrier and participate in decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimize distribution processes.
- Actively participate in projects aimed at improving productivity and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate employee performance.
